Over the past decade, Alycia Powell has built a wealth of practical
expertise as a business and legal consultant, and entrepreneur in
the fields of sports and entertainment, marketing and nonprofit
management. In 2017, Alycia co-founded Champions for
Philanthropy, Inc. (CFP), a consulting agency that assists
professional athletes, entertainers and influencers develop their
charitable and business brands. As Co-Founder and CEO, Alycia
worked closely with clients to ensure a high level of growth.
Clients include Heisman trophy winner Charlie Ward, Family Over
Everything Foundation (founded by NBA stars Marcus and Markieff
Morris and the Carroll Family Foundation (founded by NBA player
DeMarre Carroll), A Platform Squared (founded by NBA player Wendell
Carter, Jr. among others. Through her work with corporations,
family offices, nonprofits and athletes, Alycia has cultivated her
business and marketing skills through diverse platforms.
Alycia built significant expertise in business, law, and sports and entertainment during her time at New York Law School where she held myriad leadership positions, most notably founding the New York Law School Sports Law Society and New York Law School Sports Law Symposium, while serving as President and Chair. Now in its twelfth year, the Symposium attracts top sports law thought leaders from across the country.
After graduating from law school in 2011, Alycia started her own nonprofit and business consulting firm. With clients including entrepreneurs, nonprofit organizations, entertainers, corporations, a family office, and a private investor, Alycia gained deep experience in business and non-profit formation, management, marketing and strategy, as well as investing and subscription agreements. Alycia also worked in the legal department of an international fashion retail brand, focusing on intellectual property matters, tax law, compliance, marketing and general corporate law.
